Collagraph


Over easter I started to work on monoprints based on my idea of documenting, insecurities, secrets etc. in order to  get in the mind-frame of collagraph. Really I was just experimenting, but I thought the work turned out quite just experimenting, but I thought the work all looked quite good as a whole and so I started to go with the idea of concentrating on a body of work around my idea rather than on a finished piece.


These are some of the boards I started to make.I used pva-d paper squares to represent the post-it notes, tile adhesive, rafia type twine, carborundum.


I liked the idea of having a number of boards to work with so I could experiment with how they would all work together.




I started to play with the use of colour, with the idea in mind of building up pieces bit by bit...









 I tried to incorperate some bolder text using masking tape, but I'm not sure how successfull it was. I think it might have been a bit to much for the subtlety of the prints.
