I think his photo and paint montage works are really interesting, and also apply to my work on the project. Using photos, Hockney creates places, people and still-lifes. These fragments of a place/thing are taken and re-placed back together to create new places, as with what happens when a person moves home- they take apart one place that they have become accustomed to (involving the taking down of photographs, objects and possessions) and put them back together again in anew location.

David Hockney
Having just been to another interesting CCS tutorial, I decided to search some of the artists mentioned during the tutorial. I typed in the name David Hockey, after one of his works, a montage-type image, caught my attention. I have now discovered an amazing new artist!

I think his work looks gorgeous and I can't wait to try making a response to this work, involving my own surroundings.
